French Toast with Pumpkin Bread

views the best pictures

I've been inventing this recipe for a while and finally made it today. It is french toast with pumpkin bread instead of something like brioche. Try it out! Once again it is seasonal!
Recipe:

Pumpkin bread with chocolate chips in it (mine was homemade but you could use store bought)
Butter
Eggs
Vinilla Extract
Cinnamon
Nutmeg
Powder Sugar
Butter
Whipped cream, mascarpone or greek yogurt for serving

Depending on how much your making cut your bread into about 3/4 of an inch. In a deep dish add your eggs, vanilla,  nutmeg, and cinnamon. Whisk together. Add the pumpkin bread to the egg mixture and let it sit in the egg until it is absorbed. Put your pan on high-medium heat add your butter. Let it melt. Add the pain perdu or french toast to the butter and cook until golden brown on both sides. Serve with a dusting of powder sugar and cinnamon and a dollop whipped cream, mascarpone or greek yogurt. Enjoy!!
